The Kindrily Series

The Kindrily Series

Grasping At Eternity by Karen Amanda Hooper

4 ½  stars
Grasping At Eternity by Karen Amanda Hooper is the first chapter in the Kindrily series and is quickly making its way to the top of my “must continue this series” shelf.  This one of a kind YA paranormal read is a refreshing new aspect of the genre.

With its unique plot and loveable characters this is definitely one of my top picks.  The characters are all heroes in this tale and I literally mean heroes.  Most of the Kindrily have super powers of some sort which is a new take that I love.  I also found the plot to be so powerful that I could not put this book down.  The emotional quality of the characters is something that the reader will be able to connect to further drawing them in.

Ms. Hooper has written something special with within these pages which I hope continues with the future installments.  This author is new to me, but you can count on me being a true fan of this hot new series.  I look forward to where the characters go in the future and the journey along the way.  I am especially rooting for Maryah and Nathaniel.  I also love this cover!

Maryah Woodsen’s family was murdered in from of her eyes and she was within inches of her life when she saw her death angel in the form of a hottie on a motorcycle.  As she recovered she was told that het godmother, who she has never met, has guardianship over her and she would soon be moving to Sedona.

After learning she is a kindred spirit that has lived more than a few lifetimes with her new family or as they call themselves kindrily and finding out she has a soul mate, Maryah quickly leaves her family and right into the arms of danger.  Can Nathan, her soul mate, and the rest of the Kindrily save her in time?

Synopsis

Leave it to Maryah Woodsen to break the one rule that will screw up eternity: Never erase your memories.

Before entering this life, Maryah did the unthinkable—she erased. Now, at seventeen years old, she’s clueless that her new adoptive family has known her for centuries, that they are perpetually reincarnated souls, and that they have supernatural abilities. Oh, and she's supposed to love (not despise) Nathan, the green-eyed daredevil who saved her life.

Nathan is convinced his family’s plan to spark Maryah's memory is hopeless, but his love for her is undying. After spending (and remembering) so many lifetimes together, being around an empty version of his soulmate is heart shattering. He hates acting like a stalker, but has no choice because the evil outcast who murdered Maryah in their last lifetime is still after her.

While Maryah’s hunter inches closer, she and Nathan make assumptions and hide secrets that rip them further apart. Maryah has to believe in the magic within her, Nathan must have faith in the power of their love, and both need to grasp onto the truth before they lose each other forever—and discover just how lonely eternity can be.

X-MEN meets MY NAME IS MEMORY in Karen Amanda Hooper’s latest young adult release.

Taking Back Forever by Karen Amanda Hooper

4 ½ stars
Hooper has another hit in the second installment of the Kindrily series Taking Back Forever.  This beautifully written masterpiece will capture readers while making them believe in soul mates.

Taking Back Forever’s epic love story will have you believing in reincarnation, true love never dies, the power of hope, and above all else family.  Hooper transports your heart and soul into this series making readers care deeply for these fictional character.  The writing style in the Kindrily series just flows and the audience follows on the journey.

All of the characters grow and mature into themselves from book one to two.  The development of the cast is unbelievable, not only within themselves but in their powers.  And yes, we do have a few characters who find their soul mate.  The plot thickens as River in brought back in and Dedrick is still up to his evil plan although we do not know what it is at the moment.

I can honestly say that I am completely in love with this family and this series as well.  While Maryah stepped up to the bat and was at least part of the team in this book, Harmony knocked it out of the park.  All the searching in this book, for Gregory or Maryah trying to find herself, leaves you on the edge of your seat and turning page after page.  The drama, the romance, and the family atmosphere makes this book what it is.  I can not sing this book’s praises enough, just go buy it.

The cover is good, the synopsis does not do it justice, but the book is awesome.

After Maryah agrees to take her place in the kinderly and try to remember her past lives, she feels connected to Nathan but can not remember their past lives.  Each family member tries to help her in their own way.  When she sees a picture of Gregory she sees her family’s killer.  Trying to recover from the emotions that seeing Gregory has brought up, she focuses on gaining her ability back while the rest of the family’s abilities are getting stronger.  Will this family be ready for another attack from Dedrick and can they get to Gregory in time to save him?

Synopsis

Maryah erased all memory of her past lives, but she couldn’t erase her soul mate Nathan, or his undying love. Now, Maryah and Nathan have a second chance at a future together, but first Maryah must remember the person she used to be and embrace her supernatural gifts—more than one kindrily member’s life depends on it.

Maryah’s power is Harmony’s best hope of finding her kidnapped soul mate, Gregory. But Harmony isn’t big on asking anyone for help, and she’s tired of waiting, so she’s taking matters into her own hands. Heaven help anyone who stands in her way.
