Mutual Release by Liz Crowe
This is the seventh installment of the Stewart Realty
series. I am not sure why this series is
called Stewart Realty, but I assume since I am new to this series that it was
revealed in the first few book. This is
also a BDSM book, which was not indicated in the blurb.
This book is not for the faint of heart. It contains multiple deep, dark situations
and many occur while the characters are young.
This helps the reader understand the BDSM lifestyle. I have only read a few erotica books, but
this does help explain “feelings” that lead to this lifestyle.
I thought that this book was good, but exceptionally long
too long at times. I felt like I read a
whole series; maybe it was because this was a coming of age book and lasting
for years. I thought that the author
could have made this book into several shorter ones and it would have been
better and more beneficial to both her and readers like me that tend to get a
little ADD during long books. Other than
that this book was OK. I realty don’t
read many BDSM books but it this one was not bad. It had steamy explicit sex scenes, and me
being a YA/NA reader, I felt myself blushing and feeling like my eyes needed
bleaching after a few of the scenes.
Synopsis:
Can two dark souls ever make a light?
As president of her own distribution company, Julie Dawson has all she ever wanted -- money, power, and respect. But her carefully crafted façade conceals a torment of abuse and helplessness. After years remaining emotionally aloof, she is finally independent, but alone. Because she refuses to rely on anyone but herself ever again.
Evan Adams is no stranger to success, or personal demons. The horrific trauma that destroyed his twin sister, and tore his family apart, forced him to craft a new life from the ashes of the old. He's content enough, focusing ahead and not dwelling on his murky past. But something important is missing. He knows what that thing is but refuses to acknowledge it.
When a chance encounter brings these two strong-willed but damaged people together , what seems like a long, erotic journey through hell could lead them to a match made in heaven.
