THE SUMMER HE CAME HOME

Juliana Stone
4 stars  HOT

Stone’s first book in her new Bad Boys of Crystal Lake series is a definite crowd pleaser that has lots of heart. There is something here for every contemporary romance reader, and those that pine for those rocker bad boy heroes will especially not want to miss this one. The prodigal son returns and other transient themes of forgiveness and second chances are at the forefront of the story. With superb characterization and a cast of secondary characters that will have you salivating for the next book, Stone’s new series is off to a resounding start.
Summary: After ten years away, a tragedy has brought rock star Cain Black back home to Crystal Lake. With the past haunting him, Cain has no immediate plans to stay long-term, but one stolen moment with Maggie O’Rourke has him thinking otherwise. Maggie, a single mother with her own secrets, has no plans for love, but that was before the prodigal son returned. With the support of their family and friends, will they be able to move beyond each of their pasts and find unexpected love in Crystal Lake? (Sourcebooks, April, 360 pp., $7.99)
