Naked Werewolf Series by Molly Harper

How to Run Naked with a Werewolf By Molly Harper

Naked Werewolf # 3

naked weewolf

I don’t know how I have overlooked Molly Harper’s Naked Werewolf series, but somehow I have until now.  Ms. Harper is a new author for me and after this book I am a new fan!

How To Run Naked With A Werewolf is the third installment in Molly Harper’s Naked Werewolf series.

This installment of the Naked Werewolf series focuses on Anna and Caleb.   Caleb is a werewolf bounty hunter and Anna is on the run from an abusive husband.

Anna has also been the resident werewolf doctor to Caleb’s pack unbeknownst to Caleb.  Caleb is also keeping his shifter status from Anna.

This book is so funny and the plot is great!  The werewolves in Ms. Harpers world are not only alpha males/females, but passionate and caring.

This book is not only paranormal romance but also has a  hint of suspense.

I fell in love with this book and the wolves in Ms. Harper’s series.  I will have to go back and catch up on  this series.

This is series is a great addition to any wolf lover’s “to read” list.

Synopsis:

Caleb Graham is a werewolf by nature, a tracker by profession. He uses his “extra gifts” to find people, and not always in the most legal or ethical manner. He doesn’t care what they’ve done, or who wants them found, as long as his considerable fee is paid. He likes his life simple and uncomplicated.
Anna Moder, former physician to Caleb’s pack, happens across Caleb during a particularly violent “negotiation” that has left him bloodied and unconscious. She helps him, despite the fact that he’s cost her a car, so he insists that she stay with him on the road for a while. As they grow closer, Anna looks past the gruff exterior and and the questionable job to thoroughly decent werewolf underneath.
Anna – who is careful to edit her involvement with Caleb’s pack from their conversations – doesn’t talk about why a nice girl wants to live in the middle of frozen nowhere, but she’s obviously on the run from something. When Anna’s past collides with Caleb’s current assignment from one of his sleazier contacts, Caleb finally has to make a choice—protect his job…or his potential mate?

The Chrysalis Series by Elene Sallinger

Awakening by Elene Sallinger
The Chrysalis Series # 1

awakening
Awaking is the first installment in The Chrysalis Series by Eleme Sallinger.  This erotic series opener was a good start.  Not only was it erotic, but it had a story line and romance.
The character’s banter was a great addition and the chemistry and sexual tension really made the book.
I have only recently started reading erotica so I don’t have much to go on, but I really enjoyed this story.
I will definitely be following this series.
Synopsis:
River Rock, Vermont, 2011. This is the story of Claire Ryan and Evan Lang. 35-year-old Claire joins a local book club for romance readers in order to get over the breakdown of her 10-year relationship, there she meets book shop owner Evan, a dominant man who has never recovered from the sudden death of his submissive wife. Feature and Follow # 12

FF
Q: What book are you embarrassed to admit you loved?

A: I would die if some of my co-workers knew that I read and enjoyed some of the smutt books I have read.  Also, some of the YA books I read are a little on the HS side, but it is one of my guilty pleasures.  Examples: In and Out Trilogy, The Boyfriend Thief, Mutual Release, Beautiful Bastard, to name a few.

Fifteen Minutes by Karen Kingsbury

Fifteen Minutes is a contemporary Christian book with a rock star feel. I usually do not read Christian books but I was felt drawn to this book for some reason. The message in this book was great. The pacing was spot on. The characters were well thought out and the plot was amazing. I think Ms. Kingsbury has found herself a new fan.
This book would also be a great read for teens and young adults struggling with life's path and walking with God. The message is inspirational for anyone who reads the book.
Synopsis:

Zack Dylan has a dream. He wants to sing on the biggest stages, for the biggest crowds, and he'll do whatever it takes to make it come true. But Zack also made a promise to his college sweetheart when he left Kentucky to compete on the popular TV show Fifteen Minutes: If he made it, nothing would change him or his faith in God.

Overnight, Zack becomes the nation's most popular contestant, a country singer comparable to a young Tim McGraw. As his star rises, Zack is often asked to compromise and quiet his beliefs. Just as he's on the verge of winning it all, his choices lead him to the brink of personal disaster. Meanwhile, a former Fifteen Minutes winner is searching for meaning amidst her own private losses. Can she warn Zack about the real price of fame? Or will Zack lose everything he loves for his fifteen minutes of glory?

From the novelist dubbed the "Queen of Christian Fiction" by Time magazine, Fifteen Minutes explores the cost of fame and celebrity set against the backdrop of America's favorite singing competition.

The Edge of Never Series by J.A. Redmerski

The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski

The Edge of Never # 1

Have you ever started reading a book and thought this will be epic? That is how this book started. From the first paragraph to the last sentence I was enthralled with this book. The characters were flawed to perfection. The plot was well thought out and the book was beautifully written.
This emotional roller coaster will have readers laughing and crying the entire book. The Edge of Never is a gut wrencher that readers will never forget. Written in both male and female POV greatly help readers understand the characters and takes the audience to new highs.
The coming of age journey is all about finding yourself and loosing yourself at the same time. I have not felt such a connection to characters in far too long. I loved every second of this book. I even cried. Yes me, the non-crier. I have not been this watery eyed since This Girl by Coleen Hoover.
I know I sound like a blubbering mess, but this book has my emotions on high alert, my heart on fire, my eyes filled with tears, and I loved every word! I greatly enjoyed The Edge of Never. Thank you, Ms. Redmerski for writing something so profound and heartbreakingly delicious. I can't wait for more. I am a fan for life!

Synopsis:
Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.

Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she's ever known, far behind.

With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.

But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she'd do. He shows her what it's really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew's dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

Due to sexual content and language, this book is recommended for 17+ – Adult Contemporary Women's – New Adult Fiction

The Edge of Always by J.A. Redmerski

The Edge of Never #2

To be honest I liked this sequel, but didn't love it like I did the first book. Being the second installment in a series such as the The Edge of Never a follow up book is going to be hard. The profound first book in the series had my emotions on a roller coaster ride that I didn't want to end. It is hard to compete with a book so good.
Having said that, I did enjoy the continuation of Andrew and Camryn's story. I liked how the author took us back to the beginning of their saga several times and how the characters interacted with each other. I loved the heartbreaking situations that they faced and well as the strength they portrayed. I also loved their love. It was sweet, sad, and real.
I felt like the ending was a little rushed. This story would have gone a million different ways and I didn't see it ending the way it did. I thought that Ms. Redmerski would have ended it differently or at least given us fans more of this couple. But it is her work and not mine, so I read it and enjoyed it none-the-less.
Overall, this book was lacking something at the end but is a great addition to this series.

Synopsis:
He was taking the long road. She was taking the road to nowhere. It just so happened that they led to the same place…

When everything falls apart, love remains . . .

SIA

Sia by Josh Grayson

Sia by Josh Grayson is a great debut novel. The story captured my attention from the start. Yes, once you see where the story is going the book gets somewhat predictable. I think that the author did such a great job of grabbing me from the get go that this was not a problem for me. I liked to see Sia mature and turn around her former self. The story was about life's journey and was well written. This book also contained delicate subject matter and was addressed well.
Synopsis:
When seventeen-year-old Sia wakes up on a park bench, she has no idea who or where she is. Yet after a week of being homeless, she's reunited with her family. At school, she's powerful and popular. At home, she's wealthy beyond her dreams. But she quickly realizes her perfect life is a lie. Her family is falling apart and her friends are snobby, cruel and plastic. Worse yet, she discovers she was the cruelest one. Mortified by her past, she embarks on a journey of redemption and falls for Kyle, the "geek" she once tormented. Yet all the time she wonders if, when her memories return, she'll become the bully she was before…and if she'll lose Kyle.(

Shelter Me

Shelter Me by Mina Bennett

I was really thrown for a loop with this book.  First off it should have been classed as NA religious not just NA.  Then the blurb really didn’t match the book.

The idea was interesting, but the follow through was definitely a miss.  I felt this book drug on and on and on.  I stopped and started over and over.  Finally after a few good books I went back and powered through this one.  I can’t really give a non bias review because I didn’t like it.  I do commend the author for her effort.

I think that this book was supposed to be an epic coming of age story, but flopped.

On a brighter note, the cover is good.  But it does not fit this book.

Synopsis:

He's the only thing she has left to believe in...

Marissa was the first person to break Jacob's heart. When they were children, she made it very clear that she wanted nothing to do with him. She didn't mean to, but her mother had ordered her to stay away from her Sunday school crush: "He's a nice boy - don't you ruin him." So she kept her feelings hidden, telling herself that no matter how sweet he seemed, he'd still end up turning on her, like everyone else did.

Jacob never loved anyone like he loved Marissa. He knows he should try to forget about her, especially now that he's engaged and she's happily married - or so everyone says. Even though they've grown and gone their separate ways, in their tightly-knit community, that still means seeing each other at every Sunday service, church picnic and backyard barbecue. He swears that her eyes still have that sad, haunted look, but he manages to keep his distance.

Until one night, when everything changes.

With Jacob's relationship in shambles and Marissa pushed to the breaking point, they're drawn together by an unstoppable force. Temptation is irresistible. Giving in is unthinkable. But it soon becomes clear that nothing - neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation - can keep them apart.

The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Let me start off by saying Disney has been rocking the authors lately.  I know when you think Disney, you think cartoons but the books I have been reading lately have been great and The Naturals was just another added to the list.

This YA/NA start to a new series has be wanted the next installment yesterday.  The fast paced, mystery with a hint of paranormal is like Criminal Minds meets Law and Order for the younger crowd.  With the twist and turns along the way, readers will be on the edge of their seats turning pages.  And with a hint of romance you get it all in this book.

I can’t wait to see where Ms. Barnes takes this series and characters in The Naturals.

Synopsis:

Seventeen-year-old Cassie is a natural at reading people. Piecing together the tiniest details, she can tell you who you are and what you want. But it’s not a skill that she’s ever taken seriously. That is, until the FBI come knocking: they’ve begun a classified program that uses exceptional teenagers to crack infamous cold cases, and they need Cassie.

What Cassie doesn’t realize is that there’s more at risk than a few unsolved homicides— especially when she’s sent to live with a group of teens whose gifts are as unusual as her own.

Sarcastic, privileged Michael has a knack for reading emotions, which he uses to get inside Cassie’s head—and under her skin. Brooding Dean shares Cassie’s gift for profiling, but keeps her at arm’s length.

Soon, it becomes clear that no one in the Naturals program is what they seem. And when a new killer strikes, danger looms closer than Cassie could ever have imagined. Caught in a lethal game of cat and mouse with a killer, the Naturals are going to have to use all of their gifts just to survive.

Olivia Twisted

Olivia Twisted by Vivi Barnes

Love a retelling?  Try Olivia Twisted.  This book was a cute, modern retelling of Oliver Twist.  This book has it all from romance and computer hacking to a darker side of the foster care system.  I really enjoyed this unique modern day interpretation to a classic tale.  And if you’re still not a fan of this book after you finish it, you will never look at your computer the same!  I really liked this one.

Synopsis:

Olivia

He tilts my chin up so my eyes meet his, his thumb brushing lightly across my lips. I close my eyes. I know Z is trouble. I know that being with him is going to get me into trouble. I don’t care.

At least at this moment, I don’t care.

Tossed from foster home to foster home, Olivia’s seen a lot in her sixteen years. She’s hardened, sure, though mostly just wants to fly under the radar until graduation. But her natural ability with computers catches the eye of Z, a mysterious guy at her new school. Soon, Z has brought Liv into his team of hacker elite—break into a few bank accounts, and voila, he drives a motorcycle. Follow his lead, and Olivia might even be able to escape from her oppressive foster parents. As Olivia and Z grow closer, though, so does the watchful eye of Bill Sykes, Z’s boss. And he’s got bigger plans for Liv…

Z

I can picture Liv’s face: wide-eyed, trusting. Her smooth lips that taste like strawberry Fanta.

It was just a kiss. That’s all. She’s just like any other girl.

Except that she’s not.

Thanks to Z, Olivia’s about to get twisted.

By Invitation Only Series by Kate McKinley

A Duchess In the Dark By Kate McKinley
By Invitation Only # 1

A Duchess In the Dark is the first of the By Invitation Only Series by Kate McKinley.  This historical erotica is so much more than it sounds.  The short novella caught my attention and kept it the whole time.  I have recently become a fan of erotica and I love history so I thought why not right?  I am so glad I read this story and can’t wait for more of this series.

Synopsis:
