Running by Suzanne Sweeney

Running Back to You

Running # 1

Running Back to You (Running, #1)

Running Back to You is the first book in the Running series by Suzanne Sweeney.

Readers are sure to fall in love with this captivating story-line and interesting characters.  The twists and turns will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time.  With a sweet romance, this book has it all.

I can’t wait to see where the author takes this series!

Synopsis:

Talented by Sophie Davis

Talented

Talented #1

Talented (Talented Saga, #1)

Talented is the first book in the self titles series.  The genre in dystopian.

I really got into this book even though I don’t’ usually read dystopian type books.  It has the perfect balance of action, drama, and romance.

Talia was a great character and her internal struggles were intriguing.  Kicking ass and taking names while falling in and out of love isn’t easy, but she handles herself like a pro.

I can’t wait for more!

Synopsis:

Block it out. Impossible for Talia Lyons. When you’re a Mind Manipulator, it’s hard enough to block the thoughts of others, let alone your own.
Block it out. The pounding, siren-ready world Talia inhabits as she trains with her fellow Hunters, the country's top-secret covert operatives. The physical demands. The emotional toll.
Block it out. The secrets that Talia’s boyfriend is hiding. Talia’s unbidden feelings of frustration and annoyance toward her teammate, the Casanova of the compound. The wondering why she cares what he thinks.
Block him out. Ian Crane. The man behind the bloodshed marring Talia’s memories of her murdered parents. The man she’s determined to kill.
Block it all out. Focus.
Talented is an emotionally raw Dystopian Romance, about the life of a girl with extraordinary psychic powers, and what happens when a heart is torn between love and rage.

Defiance Series by Stephanie Tyler

Redemption by Stephanie Tyler

Defiance # 2

Redemption is the second book in the Defiance series by Stephanie Tyler.

I fell in love with this book from the moment I started reading it and couldn’t put it down.

The stand-alone quality was good although I would have liked more on how the Chaos started.  I have not read the first book in the series but I am going to go back and read the first book for sure.

This is a series to follow!

Redemption is a motorcycle post apocalyptical book.  It reminded of Kristen Ashley’s Motorcycle Man with Ms. Tyler’s spin.  So if you are a fan of Motorcycle Men then check this book out.

Ms. Tyler’s characters jump off the page and capture your hearts.  The Chaotic world is genius and the men are hot!

The bond Mathias and Jessa had was emotionally enthralling, heartfelt, and beautiful.  This story was captivating.  It grabbed me and didn’t let go.  Mathias is a character I will never forget.

I hope we get to see Bishop's story next!

Synopsis:

Mathias Robichaud is looking for an alliance. The Defiance motorcycle club is a stronghold in the dangerous world that’s become the new norm and he’s driven to prove he’s tough enough to be sworn in as a full member. But when he sees a beautiful, spirited girl abducted by a rival MC, rescuing her jeopardizes all he’s worked for.

Politician’s daughter Jessa Everson knows what’s expected of her—obedience, loyalty and silence—but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t fight when she’s kidnapped by the Lords of Vengeance. Having Matthias save her is like gaining an avenging angel in leather and tattoos. But Defiance is known for brutal justice, and she may have just traded one bad situation for another.

Matthias’s urge to protect is too strong to ignore, no matter how much trouble Jessa brings to Defiance’s gates. There’s no room in the post-Chaos world for weakness so if Matthias and Jessa have any chance of surviving, they’ll need to put their full strength behind the MC…and hope that the MC will do the same for them.

Salvation by Stephanie Tyler
Defiance #3

Salvation (Defiance, #3)

Salvation is the third book in the Defiance series by Stephanie Tyler.
This series is one that will stick with you.  I loved the second book in the series although I usually don't start with number two in a series this series just "stuck" with me, so I had to keep reading.
In this book we follow Bishop "Bish" and Luna and the drama increases as the world falls apart.
I love this endearing story and the characters in it.  We also see a glimpse or two of Mathias :)
These characters are important to the post apocalyptical  world in which they live.  This series is unique, has hot men and motorcycles.  What more could you want?
In all, this series gets better with every read.  I can not wait for more!
Synopsis:
Luna is headed for trouble. She knows exactly what the men who run motorcycle clubs are capable of—the ruthless violence, the grabs for power, the brutal treatment of women. The one bright spot in her dark world is being held against his will by a rival gang after sacrificing himself for the sake of the club—without saying goodbye first. She needs to bring Bishop home to Defiance, both for the good of the MC and for herself.

Keller's mafia has thrived in the fallout from the Chaos and their compound is a city of sin, a world of depraved excess where people live in fear with nowhere else to go. When Luna is taken prisoner, Bishop has no choice but to lie. As far as the enemy knows, she's his. It's the one thing that will keep her safe.

Caught off guard, Luna follows Bishop's lead. And that's where the lines begin to blur, because what's been building between them for real is undeniable. But what Keller's protecting is something he'll kill to keep under wraps and with Defiance unable to come to their rescue, and only each other to turn to, Luna and Bishop may be facing their final goodbye.

The Billionaire Boys Club (Series)

Stranded with a Billionaire by Jessica Clare

This review contains slight spoilers

Stranded with a Billionaire is the first book in the new series Billionaire Boys Club. So, all my followers (lol) know that I am a sucker for a good series and I tend to read them just because. I also want all the good books that I read to become a series because I want to know what happened next and I do not want the story to end. Sorry Susie I can’t help it, you know I love a good series. This is the case with this book/series.

This book is an awesome start and if the rest of this upcoming contemporary series is half as good, sign me up! I devoured this book in one sitting. Yes, I read it at work in between patients and yes, I put in my headphones and let my Kindle read it to me driving home (Blue’s Clues in the DVD players for the boys).

This book was divided into three parts to me; it’s like having three books in one. Some people might not like this, but to me it was very enjoyable. This first part of this book starts out on with a secrete society of hot, rich men; Hunter Buchanan real-estate tycoon, Jonathan Lyons thrill seeker, Cade Archer philanthropist, Reese Durham playboy, Griffin Verdi English aristocrat/professor, and Logan Hawkings billionaire businessman and leader of the group. After introducing all these hot men, the author had me hook, line, and sinker (this book could have sucked and I would have still read it cover to cover after reading the bio on all these men!).

After Hunter tells Logan about a fail proof real estate investment Logan travels to Seaturtle Cay, Bahamas where he purchases a hotel. Bronte Dawson is on a vacation from hell that she won from a radio station at above said hotel. After listening to her coworker complain and having an unexpected hurricane evacuation, Bronte finds herself stuck in an elevator with Logan while the hurricane is wreaking havoc on the outside. After getting out of the elevator half naked Bronte finds herself leaning on Logan for help during this disaster. I am not going to get too spoilerish on this particular part, but let’s just say they get real comfortable stranded on this deserted island.

The second part of the book for me was when they get rescued from the island (thanks to Jonathan) and go their separate ways back to the real world. Logan finds himself missing Bronte and hires a PI to locate her (so romantic). He finds her and sweeps her off her feet and into his penthouse in New York. They attempt a relationship that goes array.

The final part to this story is when they find each other again and have their happily every after (or not so much) I will not go into details, but you need to read this book.

I actually went to Goodreads.com to check out the second book because I want to read it now! The second installment does not come out until July and it will be a preorder for me. I can not wait to see how the author will write the rest of this series, but from the hints that she gives toward the end of this book the premise for the next book is just as good if not better. I will definitely check out the other books under this author’s pen name and also her other books written as Jill Myles as well.

On another note the cover stinks, it should have at least a hot guy. This would have been a 5 star review, but the cover blew it for me.  I had to deduct 1/2 star for the lame cover. 4 ½  stars for this one.

Once Upon A Billionaire
Billionaire Boys Club # 4

Once upon a Billionaire (Billionaire Boys Club, #4)

The only other book that I have read in this series is the first book, but I loved it so much I had to continue reading this series.  After reading this book I can honestly say that I love this series. The books contain great characters that have off the chart chemistry.  The follow through with the plot is amazing.  Some series have good blurbs and the books suck, not the case with this one.  The world Claire creates sucks you in and before you know it you are swept up in the world of the billionaire bachelors.

Clipped Wings Series

Cracks in the Armor (Clipped Wings, #2.5)

I really hope this series continues.  I cannot get enough of Haden and Tenley's story!  The whirlwind romance is a sweep you off your feet moment with heartbreakingly beautiful characters.  This coming of age sage will rip your heart out and mend it all over again in this series.  Pair beautifully broken characters with a story line that is emotional and you get a genius book; that is the Clipped Wings series in a nutshell!

Searching For/Love Spells Series by Jennifer Probst

Searching for Someday by Jennifer Probst
Love Spells #1
Searching for Someday is the first installment in Jennifer Probst's new series Love Spells. I have read a few book be Ms. Probst and have always enjoyed them, so I thought why not give this new series a try.
I did enjoy this book, but it was a slow start. The beginning lagged and drug along but the pace quickly picked up and the story became likeable.
The banter between the leads was hilarious, and the chemistry and sexual tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
The side characters were as developed as the main characters, so this series is sure to be a hit!

I also love the cover!

Synopsis:
Kate has given up on love—at least for herself. She is both blessed and cursed with the ability to sense a romantic connection between two people—a gift that her family passed down for generations. When Kate launches her own matchmaking company, Kinnection, with her two best friends in a cozy New York town, she has to put aside her own romantic disasters to make her business a success.

But when a furious man stalks into her office and accuses her business of being a scam, Kate is given the ultimate challenge to prove herself. Slade puts himself in her hands and asks Kate to find him love. Enraged at his arrogance but stubbornly eager to prove herself, Kate agrees, dedicating herself to the journey of finding him love...only to find herself falling for him along the way

Searching For Perfect by Jennifer Probst

Searching For # 2

We are back with the Kinnections crew for another round of romance.  Prim and proper Kennedy who has sworn off men recruits a nerd to make over and fix up; can the matchmaker let down her guard to see the man of her dreams is right in front of her face?

This series has quickly become one of my favorite romance series.  I think I like the second book better than the first.  With hot characters and a funny plot this book is a must read.  I love a good make over story!

Synopsis

The up-and-coming matchmaking agency Kinnections is the hottest thing to hit Verily, New York—just like Kennedy Ashe, social director for the service she owns with her two best girlfriends. A coach, consultant, and cheerleader rolled into one super-sizzling package, Kennedy creates dream dates, encourages singles to shine, and never refuses a challenge—not even Nate Ellison Raymond Dunkle, rocket scientist, nerd extraordinaire, and Kennedy’s newest client.

Kennedy vows to work her magic and transform this hot mess in a lab coat with a disastrous relationship track record into the most wanted man on the Verily dating scene. If only she could turn the wand on herself . . .

Though she radiates confidence and sex appeal, Kennedy harbors deep-seated insecurities from a tormented past and lifelong struggle with weight issues. When she realizes she and Nate are cut from the same cloth and might be perfect together, can Kennedy learn to let her heart lead the way? Or will her fears sentence her to the sidelines as Nate finds love—with someone else?

Addicted Series

Addicted To You by Krista and Becca Ritchie

Addicted # 1

I fell in love with this book and the characters.  The unique plot hit the ball out of the park!  The characters depth, charm, and likability will have readers hooked.  The struggles these characters face will weigh on your heart and have you rooting for them to overcome.  The further you read this one the move you get sucked in.  I couldn’t put this one down.  I am hooked and can’t wait to see where the authors take us in the next installment.

Synopsis:

In Plain Sight Series

Break Me by Autumn Stark
In Plain Sight # 1

I really liked this story about a woman who gets the guy she has been pining after for years.  This book contains lots of hot sex, chemistry, and drama.  It was exactly what I needed.  I can’t wait to see what happens with Jay and Parker.

Synopsis:

Abigail Stevens, an efficient and no-nonsense editor for one of the biggest names in the romance novel industry, has a big problem. She's been desperately in love with Anthony Tate, Mr. Romance-Writer himself, for the last four years. She's settled for friendship and professional success for the last four years, but now the sexy writer needs something more from her and she can't find a reason to refuse.

Tony Tate has built a career centered on his identity as America's most romantic writer. That identity does not include a debauched temper tantrum in the aftermath of his very public break-up with his on-again, off-again girlfriend. Tony has known that Abby has had the hots for him since the moment they met, but when his Plain Jane best friend and controlling editor ends up being his only option to exorcise his demons and pent-up sexual frustration, he can't wait to break her prim and proper shell.

As Tony and Abby push each other farther than they've ever gone before, the question becomes, who will break whom?

The V Trilogy

The Unseemly Education of Anne Merchant
by Joanna Wiebe

I am so on the fence about this book.  On one hand I am quite intrigued by the mysterious and creepy aura that the author portrayed giving the setting an eerie feel.  On the other some of the characters were farfetched.   I did not love the fact that the reader or Anne was kept in the dark the entire book.  The plot was good, the follow through was good, the ending felt rushed.  The slow buildup could have been fast as it crept along and some of the characters served no purpose for me. All in all it was a good read.  I  will have to check out the next book in the series and see where this goes.
Synopsis:
So many secrets for such a small island. From the moment Anne Merchant arrives at Cania Christy, a boarding school for the world’s wealthiest teens, the hushed truths of this strange, unfamiliar land begin calling to her—sometimes as lulling drumbeats in the night, sometimes as piercing shrieks.

One by one, unanswered questions rise. No one will tell her why a line is painted across the island or why she is forbidden to cross it. Her every move—even her performance at the school dance—is graded as part of a competition to become valedictorian, a title that brings rewards no one will talk about. And Anne discovers that the parents of her peers surrender million-dollar possessions to enroll their kids in Cania Christy, leaving her to wonder what her lowly funeral director father could have paid to get her in… and why.

Still Life With Strings

Still Life With Strings by L. H. Cosway

Still Life With Strings is an unconventional love story that had me turning pages and recharging my kindle to keep reading.  The character depth added a nice touch to this musically inspired plot.  I can’t wait to see if there is another book about Alec and Avery.

I was not really sure if I would like this book because of the setting not being in the US, but I have to say that I fell in love with it.  I would recommend this read to anyone who loves music or a great romance.

Synopsis:

My name is Jade Lennon and I stand still for money.

The night I saw Shane Arthur watching me everything changed. A man in a suit always catches my eye, but it was the way he looked at me that was different. Like he knew me or something. He didn’t know me, especially not in my costume. My sobriety rests on staying away from men, but there was something about him that made me throw caution to the wind.

After all, I was never going to see him again, right?

Wrong.

Standing still isn’t the only way I make my money. I also bartend at a concert hall. Never in my wildest dreams did I think Shane was going to show up there. Not only that, but he’s the most recent addition to the orchestra. So now on a daily basis I have to resist one of the most beautiful men I’ve ever met and he plays the violin. For me that’s one hell of a deadly cocktail.

He wants me to teach him how to live. I’m not sure how much a twenty-six year old recovering alcoholic who works in a bar and moonlights as a living statue can teach a world class concert violinist, but I’m sure going to try.
